I booked three months ahead, but at check-in another guest was in the room I'd reserved. The one bright spot was the reception team: they helped me find another hotel and refunded me right away. Their service was excellent. I attached screenshots because I don't think their response is being honest. I wasn't upset, but you didn't honor what we'd agreed.

The only real plus was the excellent location. Staff service was average, though everyone was very polite, and the air conditioning worked okay. I stayed in room 7 in October. The room was spacious, but there was no shower enclosure and the floor sloped toward the doorway, so water ran to the entrance and I had to keep pushing it back. You have to ask for sheets and towels to be changed. There were no wardrobes, and we had to share an iron with the other rooms. Breakfast was the worst part: it was served in the room, had to be booked, and we had to choose the day before what to eat. Everything tasted bland. The window in my room couldn't be opened because it faced the entrance where guests walk by.

The staff were just as helpful and friendly as at the first pousada, especially one receptionist, an older man from Venezuela, who treated me extremely well and always helped when I asked. The location is excellent, right across from the sea and only 300m from the Ferris wheel, so I'd recommend it for convenience when visiting the city. We'd first stayed two days at pousada massayo, owned by the same person, then moved for three days to pousada Maceió e massa with high expectations. The second place seemed a little older, though, and room 06 needed repairs: the bathroom door handle was broken, and shower water wouldn't drain, leaving the whole bathroom wet. It wasn't as comfortable as we'd hoped.

Maria's service was fantastic, and the location is excellent. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, but very old. The mattresses were even misshapen, and the air conditioning was old too. Breakfast was somewhere between mediocre and bad.

The breakfast delivered to the room is generous, and the place is well organized. Rooms are spacious and cozy, with clean sheets and air conditioning that works well. One note for room 04: some floor tiles are loose. It might also help to add an outdoor tap for guests coming back from the beach. I had a great stay.
