Pousada Morada Do Sol

Think twice before staying at "Hotel Pousada Morada do Sol" in Jatiúca, Maceió-AL. I booked ahead for January 17, 2023 at 2 p.m. through January 24 at noon, based on the photos, which made the rooms look excellent. We also called Hotel and were told by the receptionist that guests praised it, it was comfortable, and the beds were good box beds. They are box beds, but the mattresses were awful. We arrived at Hotel Morada do Sol at 1:25 a.m. on January 18. I asked for a refund, and I will probably get back only half of what I paid, minus a penalty, even though I was misled. I expected at least basic comfort and health safety for what I paid. The bathroom sink, toilet, and shower all ran dirty water. The toilet was stained, its very old seat showed heavy wear and possible bacteria risks, and the shower enclosure was dirty and stained too. The shower control was wrapped in electrical tape to prevent shocks, which still seemed like an electric shock risk. The mattress didn't allow for comfortable, healthy rest, and the pillowcases were stained and dirty. The air conditioner hadn't been maintained and smelled bad, and there was a strong sewer odor in the bathroom.
