Wanderlust Hostel

Construction was going on, with the stairways obstructed. There's just one elevator, and each floor has a single bathroom shared by around 20 people. The pillows were completely worn out and disgusting, and the breakfast was pretty gross. Staff seemed not to care, spending the day talking or looking at their phones. It felt like making money was all that mattered. They also let people who weren't staying there come in during the evening to hang out and do karaoke. There's no storage room, so staff move your belongings. Watch your things so they don't get stolen. This is the worst hostel I've stayed in Brazil, and it wasn't worth the price.

The emergency stair exit has been blocked since yesterday. I asked them to move the mattresses and was told, "we are renovating." I first saw them at 4.30 and assumed workers were dealing with them, but they were still there at 6 pm. It's no wonder accidents sometimes end with people dying. I should sue the hostel. That would cost them less than a lawsuit after an accident. The photos here don't show what I found at the hostel.

I was staying somewhere else, but spent time at the bar and had a great time. Michel and Jefferson were a wonderful team, and I'm grateful to them. The mojito was one of the best I've ever had, and Tango is worth trying too. I felt at home with my friends while we watched the karaoke crowd, even though I was alone. It was amazing.

Friendly staff and a pleasantly hospitable feel. The beach is only a minute away, and the location is good. The main tourist area takes an Uber ride to reach, but that's no big deal. There's also a nice craft beer bar around the corner.
