Eco Resort Refúgio Cheiro de Mato

The staff were very attentive, especially the waitresses Jenifer and Bruna, who were extremely kind. The location is wonderful, the rooms comfortable, and there are lots of nature activities, including trails, zip lines, canopy rides and boat trips. Even with a reduced menu during the pandemic, the restaurant had tasty food and good vegetarian options for me.

The lake and the easy trip from Sao Paulo are reasons I’d consider coming back, though I’d look at other places first. The setting is beautiful and well maintained, and the location is fantastic. There was plenty of food, with frequent meals and lots of variety. But having to pay for water, especially at this price, felt absurd and stingy. The kids’ activities were nice, but poor planning meant we sometimes had to rush. It was also hard to find out what was happening and when. They need a clearer way to share the schedule, whether online, by email, WhatsApp or an app. The room was just okay. For this price, I expected a more comfortable bed and a better bathroom. The water in mine wouldn’t drain. Maybe I was unlucky, but I’m not sure. Three stars feels about right.

The hotel handled the holiday crowd well. It has good facilities and staff, and the meals and drinks are great. A good place to stay.

I spent a day here with a group from work. The food was good, the activities were fun, and the waiters were friendly. Definitely recommend it!
