Good morning. It's been 27 years since I went to São Thomé das Letras.

I only stayed one night, and it was peaceful. The place is very simple and family-run, just as shown in the photos, but clean and well organized. The host was warm and helpful.

I booked four days at Pousada Fortaleza São Tomé das Letras for 900 reais, but it wasn't what I expected. I left after just 24 hours, though I still paid the full 900 reais. There was no wardrobe in the room, no face towels, and the two bath towels were small and very poor quality. The refrigerator only cooled the freezer. The shared kitchen was awful and dirty, there was a cockroach in the room, and moths on the walls. I told the owner about the refrigerator. When I went to hand over the key, she offered me another room, but I turned it down. I lost my money, paying 900 reais for one day. I'm not making this up. I only wanted to say what was actually missing, that's all.
