The owner offered me a discount to book directly after I found the place on Booking. I agreed to a monthly price, but later he wanted to charge me a luxury hotel’s daily rate, plus electricity. He also said I owed a cancellation fee because I’d canceled through Booking. Completely crazy. I heard him showing the same little apartments to other people for a price ten times lower than what he charged me. The room had no microwave or windows and felt suffocating. A place next door, Toca do Mumu, held parties all night, so sleeping was impossible. I paid for 30 days but couldn’t last even 15.

Guilherme was really attentive and patient. He took the time to listen and put together a diet that actually fits my day-to-day routine. Thanks so much!

I was nearly left out on the street at 1 a.m. I’d booked ahead and arranged the dates and times, but was left stranded and out of pocket. Don’t make arrangements unless you go through a company that gives you some security.
