Hotel Juma Ópera

The hotel has a charm and quality you wouldn't guess from the outside. The rooms are lovely, and there's a nice rooftop pool and a good fitness center for a hotel this size. Breakfast was one of the best I've had, with plenty to choose from both on the buffet and to order. Really nice place, absolutely recommended. 👍👍👍👍👍

I learned the hard way on day one that a cheap nearby Airbnb wasn't the right choice. I canceled it and moved straight to Juma Opera Hotel, where I stayed for a few days before and after my fishing lodge trip near Kendjam. This was my first visit to Brazil. I arrived in Manaus before flying out to the remote lodge, and the hotel's location across from the Teatro Amazonas and the historic public square gave me plenty of options for food, drinks, and things to do. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, and the restaurant and bar food and drinks were consistently great. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the restaurant staff and bartender. It's probably one of the pricier hotels in Manaus, but I thought it was worth it.

The employees were the best part of a stay that was already excellent. Alice was patient and accommodating, and the others handled our laundry perfectly and brought us food when we weren't feeling well. We'd had a rough travel day before arriving, and the people and the place helped get us back on track. The spa with its steam room and hot tub, the food and drinks, and the rooftop pool were all top notch. One of our best hotel stays ever. Stay here if you're coming to Manaus.

There's plenty to see and explore around this lovely hotel in central Manaus, right beside the Amazon Theatre. We spent two nights there and were welcomed with fresh Cupuaçu juice. Check-in was quick, easy, and kind, and our room was impeccable. The breakfast in the beautiful glass dome was lovely, with local delicacies brought to the table. Every staff member was very friendly and spoke great English. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Manaus who wants a stay with both historic character and modern comforts.
