Novotel Manaus

When my flight got canceled, this turned out to be a great place to wait it out. Andre was awesome, and so were Taylor Swift girl called Caroline and Snow White Andrea. The staff were great and the food was amazing. Couldn't have spent the unexpected stopover somewhere better.

The staff are very attentive, but the rooms made for a really uncomfortable stay. Everything felt damp, from the blankets and towels to the mattresses, and our clothes got damp too. There was a strong musty smell from the high humidity. For such an expensive daily rate, the basic infrastructure needs work. The hotel urgently needs renovation, especially to tackle the humidity, with a dehumidifier system as a top priority.

Breakfast was great and the other meals were good. The gym, though, felt bare-bones for a hotel this size, and I think it should have more equipment. The room was comfortable and very clean, with new equipment that worked well, clean towels, and a good shower. Check-in and check-out were quick, too.

The restaurant lunch was average to good, though the live music was so loud it was hard to relax. The stay itself was pleasant, with clean, modern facilities and a comfortable place to rest after a stressful day at the airport. The frustrating part came at check-in. My airline had arranged the stay after my flight was canceled, but the attendant said there was a problem with my name on the voucher. She had mistaken the airline staff member's name for mine. I was already exhausted, so the mix-up made arriving needlessly difficult. Better reception service would have made the experience good.
