Pousada Alto De Junqueira

I arrived in the rain to find the inn without proper electricity, only one phase working. The pool wasn't fit to use, and the room was in poor shape, with worn furniture and appliances. The TV had no signal and the shower was bad. They didn't offer any option to cancel or work something out. Terrible experience, I don't recommend it.

The view was spectacular, and the double room with a balcony was quite good. Getting there was difficult, though. Breakfast was very basic and started late, at 8 a.m. Some rooms don't have enough blankets, and the shower never got very hot.

The view is the one good thing, but access is very difficult and the room was borderline unsanitary. The mattresses are so thin they feel disposable, and you can feel the bed frame through them. The whole Pausada complex has parking for just one car, even though it's clearly impossible to get there any other way. The air conditioning barely works and makes a lot of noise, and the pool was so dirty it couldn't be used. Terrible value for money. I regret staying the night and absolutely don't recommend it.

I had a really relaxing stay. The apartment was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and it was quiet. The rooms are new and spacious, the facilities are great, and the place is good value. Breakfast was simple but really tasty, and the pool was just the right size. Its water comes straight from the source, so swimming felt a bit like being in a waterfall. What really sets this inn apart from the others I've visited is the owner. Alexandre is incredible, so welcoming and attentive, and he really cares about people's well-being. He's a sweetheart. There was still some construction going on, but it never got in the way, and the place will be beautiful once it's finished. It's lovely to write a review for this inn. I'll be back to enjoy the place and to see Geovana, Alexandre's granddaughter. That girl has such a light about her, and her charm alone made an ordinary night's stay unforgettable.
