Garcia Palace Hotel

We booked ahead and the reservation was confirmed, but afterward the hotel tried to change the price, saying it would be double. When we refused, they cancelled, claiming there was no availability. That left us without a place to stay and with no support. It showed a lack of commitment, transparency, and respect for the customer. I don’t recommend it.

The room was comfortable, clean, and everything worked properly. Staff at reception were consistently kind, polite, and attentive, and helped with everything I asked for. Breakfast had lots of choices, with something new to try each day. The location was useful too, close to bars, restaurants, squares, and laundries. This was one of my best experiences while traveling. Well done!

The building and room 104 are quite new, and the staff are very friendly. The room was spacious, with a big double bed and good A/C, but the noise from the bar outside was the worst part. The window faces it and barely blocks any sound, so lying in bed felt like being in the bar. I couldn’t rest or sleep. The curtain is too small to cover the window properly or keep the light out, either. There’s no shower enclosure or towel rail, and they don’t provide a face towel or hair dryer. The whole bathroom gets wet when you shower, including the toilet and toilet paper. The electric shower was missing its handheld hose, and water came out of the open hole, so I had to improvise with a wad of paper to plug it. I haven’t tried breakfast yet, I’m writing this while awake because of the noise. Check the reviews and look at other options before booking.

The staff are great, and the location is handy, with a little barbecue place across the street, laundry, and shops nearby. The lobby is grand, pretty, and smells nice, so it makes a lovely first impression. But there’s a lot that needs work. I had to switch rooms twice. The first bathroom flooded because the water wouldn’t drain. In the second room there was no wardrobe, and it was so cramped I could barely move without bumping into the bed. The third bathroom was dirty, with nowhere to put soap or shampoo in the shower. The A/C was very weak, the TV had no channels, and none of the rooms had a fitted sheet, just one sheet laid over the bed. The glass doors don’t block sound, so it was noisy. Whenever someone walked down the corridor, the light came on and lit up the room. It was hard to sleep or get decent rest. Breakfast was pretty bad, with few choices, dry scrambled eggs, and dry bread. The price is the same as other hotels in the area, and this place needs a lot of improvement.
