Pousada Estrela Do Mar

We were really happy with the pousada. We hadn’t planned the trip, but the person in charge was so attentive and quickly found us a room. The nightly rate was great for what was included, and the location was perfect, one street behind the main street by the sea. There’s a market, Lojas Americanas, and the “centrinho” nearby, with plenty of places to eat and walk around at night. Our room was comfortable for a couple or someone traveling alone. It had a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi, and breakfast was included and very good. You can get around on foot without needing a car or motorcycle. I’d definitely recommend it for the hospitality, location, and value. One tip: watch the traffic signs. Lots of streets there are one-way, and there are cameras, so you could get fined without realizing you turned the wrong way 😅

Tiny room, and the bathroom sink was falling apart. Don’t go, look for somewhere else.

We had a wonderful five-day stay. The breakfast was really good and always prepared with a lot of care, and the service was very good too. It’s hard to beat the value, with the pousada in the city center, just behind the beach. Our room, number 10, also had air conditioning and a lovely view. My only suggestion is to add some fragrance or something to the bathroom. Since the room is small, the bathroom smell spreads into it, so I kept the bathroom door shut.

The location, breakfast, and service were all strong points, and dona Nen deserves special praise for how tirelessly she looked after things. It’s good value, and I’d come back. The room had just two outlets, both mounted high up. The window was almost two meters wide but opened only 40 cm, which got in the way of the lovely view facing the beach. There was also only a small mirror in the bathroom, and a larger one would be useful.
