Pousada La Belle

We felt safe and had no problems around the pousada. It’s close to the Orla, and we walked there whenever we needed to. The internet connection was good, and the place had recently been renovated, so the exterior, interior, and rooms all looked new. Cleaning was well done, the rooms were a good size, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is a little narrow, but that wasn’t a problem. The pousada has its own garage, a big advantage over other places in town. Breakfast had an excellent range of options, and the women who work in the kitchen and help with breakfast were really nice and did a good job. Gilson at reception was also great and worked well. A few things could be improved: there weren’t enough outlets in the room, especially in the bathroom, and the bathroom window faces other buildings, so a privacy film would help.

The room was very clean, the shower was great, and the linens were bright white and smelled lovely. The reception team were attentive and helpful. The location is outside the center, though not far away, in a popular community area and close enough to the Orla to walk there. It’s very good value and well worth it.

Our room was number 8, and the kitchen upstairs made it hard to sleep. The banging pots and pans started around 4:30 am, so that really needs attention. Otherwise, everything was fine: good value, reliable Wi-Fi, and an easy walk to the city center.

Gilson at the front desk really stood out. He was attentive, gave clear information, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure guests had a good stay. When I mentioned that my pillow smelled of men’s perfume, he came right away and replaced the pillows, covers, and cases with ones that smelled of fabric softener. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the TV had lots of channels, though I barely had time to watch anything. Breakfast was generous, fresh, tasty, and replenished quickly. A mesh cover over the food might help keep flies and insects away, since the plastic wrapping sometimes falls off or gets left badly placed. The hotel was clean throughout. A shower near the entrance would be useful for washing sand off your feet. The hotel is in an old fishing village with simple, irregularly built houses. I never felt unsafe. I walked several times to the main beach, the town center, the waterfront restaurants, the main church, and shops. For the farther beaches, you’ll need a van, car, transfer, or similar ride.
