Pousada Mahat

The inn is cozy, with clean, comfortable rooms, and it’s close to the beach while still far enough from the noise. Both the owners and staff are really friendly. I had a great stay at Algodões beach and will come back again.

The architecture and decor at Mahat are excellent, really beautiful and tasteful. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, though the pillows were much too high and hard, with no thinner option. The staircase up to the mezzanine looks lovely but felt dangerous. Internet was good, which helped since my Vivo service doesn’t work there. The TV signal, on the other hand, was terrible, whether it was raining or not. I split my time on the peninsula between Algodões, Taipu de Fora, and Barra Grande, and stayed at Mahat in Algodões. It had the most expensive nightly rate of the three. I expected more of the welcoming Bahia warmth and friendliness, which I didn’t find among the few staff members. Breakfast was simple and had little variety. They reused items too, including the same cake from the day before, left exactly as it had been. The parking is outside the inn, and the walk to the lobby goes between trees. We got a little wet because it was raining. It’s not right on the sand, there aren’t restaurants nearby, and you need a car to get around.

If peace and quiet are what you want, stay here. It’s close to the beach but a good distance from the center, so it’s ideal for a restful break. The breakfast is delicious and natural, and everything is made there. Fabíola is incredibly polite and kind. The rooms are clean and pleasant, and with the quiet at night you can hear the waves. Such a lovely experience 😊

The setting is full of beautiful natural scenery, and the inn feels so welcoming and comfortable. Add in the personal service and all the little thoughtful touches. That’s pousada Marat. I come back whenever I can!
