Taipu Bay Pousada - Taipu de Fora

The beach is beautiful and just a short distance away. The resort itself is lovely, and the host was super friendly. Breakfast was good too.

The breakfast was a highlight of our week. The buffet changed every day, and there was also a menu of fresh dishes made to order with a lot of care. Our room was spacious and clean, with lovely hot water, working air conditioning, and blackout curtains that made it very dark when we wanted. Wi-Fi worked well. We had no water shortages during our stay, though the town was quiet at the time, despite reports of shortages in the area. It's a calm five-minute walk to the beach along the inn's street, even barefoot, and the inn sits between two natural pools at Taipus de fora. We loved staying here and hope to come back for yoga classes and to see Cigana, the cat who lives at the hotel. It's pet-friendly too.

Homemade breads and cakes made breakfast a treat, with something different each day. The hotel is only steps from the beach, and the service made it easy to explore the peninsula at our own pace. A great base for discovering Barra Grande.

Our pet was welcomed warmly and seemed happy meeting the other animals in the hall. That was part of a lovely surprise from start to finish. We had found ourselves in Ilhéus and decided at the last minute to head to Barra grande, worried about finding somewhere that would take a pet. Soraya herself replied on WhatsApp from pousada taipu bay, politely explaining the options, and we called the next day to book. The staff were attentive, the rooms were spacious, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious, with fruit, bread and cake on offer, plus a menu of items to order such as tapioca, cold cuts, eggs, smoothies and teas. We were very happy with the welcome, and it's a great choice for families, friends, couples, and people traveling with pets.
