Maison Aires Malcher

Nice.

The place is quiet and the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is basic but does the job. I ran into several problems, though. My reservation had one price, but at check-in they charged me twice that amount. A staff member pulled a piece of fruit meant for my daughter out of my mother-in-law's hand because she wouldn't let her eat it away from the breakfast table. At checkout, the water cost more than the price shown on the room menu. And the website's claim that the beach is a two-minute walk away isn't accurate. You can't really get anywhere without a car.

My son stayed there and told me exactly what was reported here, especially about that woman's rudeness. Age has nothing to do with it. Courtesy and respect are part of who we are, or we simply don't have them. For anyone running a business, those things should be basic.

I stayed there through my company. The room was basic and a bit dirty, with lots of dead mosquitoes and dust. There was no guest support during the stay, and no restaurant or snack service. I left the next morning without seeing any staff, checked out on my own, and shut the guesthouse door behind me. In reply, the company canceled the following day's booking and made a new one for an earlier date, so there was a reservation code. Emergencies can happen to any of us, and I hope the health situation was resolved as well as possible. Still, having nobody available at night or the next morning is an organization issue, regardless of a health emergency. A room can be simple, but cleanliness and order shouldn't depend on its category.
