Esquilo Hotel

We came to see the hotel and stayed one night, from 19 to 20/11. Everything was perfect, and the whole team was ready to make our stay special. Well done to everyone. I’ll definitely return! Best, Marlene and Marcos

I’m sharing this to help anyone looking for a place to stay in Monte Verde. My family and I booked two rooms at Esquilo Hotel on 22/03/2025 after seeing the good reviews, but the stay was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The rooms smelled strongly of mold. They offered us different accommodation, but I still wasn’t satisfied. I wanted to leave, but the hotel doesn’t refund what you’ve paid, and it wasn’t cheap. The pool isn’t heated outside high season, and some services are also unavailable for that reason. It’s Monday and there was no breakfast buffet, which hadn’t been mentioned when we booked. My family is the only one staying here, which makes the atmosphere feel even more discouraging. Low season here was a terrible experience. I don’t recommend Esquilo Hotel. We’re leaving earlier than planned because it really isn’t worth it.

The place itself is beautiful, and the whole team was warm and courteous. Alejandro and Enzo deserve a special mention for taking such good care of us. There’s a restaurant with plenty of choices, and breakfast was excellent. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and very comfortable.

The recreation program was excellent, and tio Coco and tia Lola were fantastic with the kids. The service was good, and breakfast was very good too. I didn’t give five stars because the facilities need a lot of improvement. The hotel is old and shows plenty of wear. Aside from that, everything was very good.
