Pousada Bem-te-vi

We chose this inn with a lot of care since our stay was for a special occasion. The experience was good overall, though there are a few things that would make it more comfortable and better fit the place's promise. The pillows were very poor quality and made it harder to rest. Replacing or upgrading them would make a big difference. The emergency phone also didn't work when we needed it, which left us feeling uneasy. Breakfast could start earlier, too, since the current time can interfere with lunch, especially for guests with plans during the day. Breakfast was inconsistent. On the first day, when there were more guests, there was more variety. The next day, when we were the only guests, many options weren't available and the kitchen didn't replenish anything. Food labels and labels on the thermos bottles would help avoid confusion. The menu was hard to see, and nobody explained that some items could be made to order. It would help to have someone available to assist. We hope these comments are taken as constructive. The place has potential, and these changes could make the stay much better for future guests.

A wooden chalet with an indoor fireplace made our stay feel so cozy, romantic, and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful. It's the kind of place most people hope to find in Monte Verde, and we thought it was wonderful.

We had a great stay, with attentive staff, excellent facilities, and a convenient location. The main street is close enough to reach on foot, which made getting around much easier. Entry to the vehicle gate uses an automated code, so we could come and go without speaking to anyone. Parking right in front of the rooms also made loading and unloading easy. The room had a fireplace, minibar, and air conditioning that could heat it. The bed was large, there was a full-length mirror and a wide window, and the whirlpool tub was huge. We could set the bed warmer to the temperature we wanted, and there was a device in the bathroom to warm towels so they dried faster. Hot water kept running in the shower, tub, and sink without interruption. Firewood was available at the inn for the same price as buying it elsewhere. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were attentive to special requests.

The breakfast was generous, and they even offered afternoon tea. Service was very good, and we're certain we'll return. The chalet was immaculate and well equipped, with a bed and towel warmer, fireplace, and bathtub. It's 100m from the main avenue. A couple of suggestions: leave a breakfast menu on every table, since some guests don't seem to notice the extra options. The parking area could also use more lighting.
