Aquaria Natal Hotel

The view from my room was lovely, looking out toward the beach and the nearby Morro do Careca. I also felt safe, with police officers around the hotel both day and night, and the location was very convenient. The room was clean, neatly arranged, and had plenty of space for my things. Breakfast offered a nice range of fruit, juice, breads, and local food like tapioca. Parking and luggage storage were included at no extra cost. The staff were especially kind and ready to help with any situation.

We had a room with two separate bedrooms, which worked really well for a couple with kids, plus a small sitting room apart from the bedrooms. It was comfortable, and the hotel staff were genuinely nice and gave us great service throughout the stay. The pool area was great, and the all-you-can-eat restaurant was very good. The location is fantastic, right across from the beach. I'd give it 10/10 and would happily stay there again.

The good parts were the strong, non-electric shower, nice views, appealing architecture, cleanliness, and excellent Wi-Fi. But the rest of the stay was hard to get past. The room had no blankets, and the ones we were given had brown stains. We returned them and got more stained ones. The bedroom windows had a black coating that kept out all daylight, so opening them was the only way to get natural light, but then outside noise and cold air came in. They also required masks as soon as we arrived, including in partly outdoor areas, and kept bothering us about them throughout the stay. At check-in we were made to wear wristbands for breakfast, but still had to sign in at breakfast, so the bands seemed pointless. Being made to wear both felt annoying and demeaning, like guests were being treated as livestock. The negatives stood out much more than the positives. If mandatory masks and wristbands and stained bedding aren't a problem for you, you might be fine here. I wouldn't recommend it.

Ponta Negra beach is right across the street, and plenty of shops and restaurants are an easy walk away. There's always something going on along the boulevard. I also recommend Midway mall, and the front desk will gladly call a taxi for you. The service desk staff were professional and helpful, and some speak English. Room service was quick, available anytime, and the food was high quality. Housekeeping kept the rooms clean, too. I had an excellent stay at Aquaria. If you're staying in Natal, Brazil, Aquaria Natal hotel is a solid choice.
