Hotel Parque da Costeira

The food was okay, but not what I'd expect from a four star hotel. Most of the staff were nice, and ageus was especially helpful, though the reception clerks often acted like we were bothering them. The building also needs work: pieces of doors were falling out, we saw a cockroach in the corridor, and the shower drainage was poor. The floor by the pool is extremely slippery. We saw three people get hurt there. We waited two hours to check in and weren't offered drinks. The reception staff were very unhelpful. In our first room, the shower drained badly enough that water ran into the room. We reported it and were told they'd speak to the manager, but heard nothing that day or the next morning. At the pool, we jumped into the adult pool and found it was only 1m deep, something the hotel hadn't stated. We hurt ourselves and got no help at the front desk, so I had to ask the bar for ice. Later, the bathroom door handle broke. Reception said they'd contact the manager and send a handyman right away. We waited half an hour; then a cleaner came in and said they didn't know when the handyman would arrive. We were fed up, went back to reception, and were moved to another room. Its shower still drained poorly, but the water didn't run into the room.
