Really nice.

The reception and kitchen staff were wonderful, polite, and attentive. The location is great, the rooms are very clean when requested, and breakfast has plenty of fresh options. But my rating mainly reflects an essential problem that went unresolved during my entire stay. I was there for seven days, and the room’s air conditioning never worked. We told several staff members across different shifts, but nothing was fixed. They said it had been repaired or was just a settings issue, but it still didn’t work and even dripped at night. We spent several hot nights without air conditioning. The fan we asked for was weak. Only after we left did a technician check it and find a leak, and they planned to replace it for the next guests. Unfortunately, we were without AC for all seven days.

The service, breakfast, and location were the only positives. It really is right by the beach. We expected something simple, not luxury, and have stayed in plenty of basic places before. The photos and comments made this pousada seem like a simple but acceptable choice, so the poor condition of our room was a real disappointment. I can only imagine what the more basic rooms are like. The room we got was badly maintained. The air conditioner was damaged, with wires hanging out and spliced together. The room was very small, and the bathroom was so cramped there was no place for toiletries, so we had to put our soap and shampoo on the toilet. The toilet paper holder was broken, and the accordion bathroom door was already broken when we arrived. Mosquitoes bit me through the night. We later noticed a gap remained even when the balcony door was shut, letting them in. The street was very noisy, which we could have expected from the location, but the gaps in the door let in noise as well as mosquitoes. We had two terrible nights and changed hotels. Our stay was supposed to run from 15/02 to 21/02, but we checked out early on 17/02.
