The staff were very friendly, responsive, and helpful, and the beach is only a couple of blocks away. Restaurants and shops are easy to reach on foot. For the price, I'd absolutely recommend it, as long as you keep expectations realistic. The room had a smart TV, a strong cold air conditioner, and a good hot shower. The sink design wasn't great: there was little room for soap, and water often ended up on the floor. A few large ants seemed to come through a hole in the wall behind the air conditioner. The door wouldn't latch unless we used the deadbolt, apparently because there was cork in the striker hole. Room service also skipped our room a couple of times, so we had to get toilet paper and trash bags from the resupply closet ourselves.

After booking through the hotel's official website during carnival, I was charged for one night. Three days later, someone introducing themselves as hotel staff contacted me on WhatsApp asking for 50% of the booking upfront. I explained that the first night's payment had already been taken from my card and that this could cause confusion. After a lengthy check, they canceled my booking and said paying in USD wouldn't work for me. It left me wondering if they planned to charge me a special rate when I arrived, when finding another hotel might be difficult. It felt like they were trying to get more money from guests through deception before arrival.

Very baby friendly, and they let us use the kitchen at any time. There are lots of stairs and no elevator, though, so accessibility is an issue.
