The rooftop spa and bar were nice, though the hot tub wasn't working while I was there. Staff were kind and patient, and answered my questions quickly when I emailed a few days before arriving. I spoke Portuguese with them, but I think they may speak English too. Breakfast was a real highlight, definitely different from the usual continental spread in the USA. The rooms were clean, though not soundproof, and construction during my stay could be distracting. I was out enjoying everything Niterói has to offer most of the time anyway. If you're larger, the shower may feel a little snug. I'm 6'1" and 250 lbs, but it wasn't a problem. It's about a five-minute walk to the beach and a little tucked away from the road. There are good small restaurants nearby, and the area felt very safe. For the price and location, it's a great bargain. I'd book here again.

Free parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast are included at Hotel village Icaraí in Niterói/RJ. The rooms have air conditioning, cable TV, a desk, and private bathrooms. MAC, the museum, is 1.2 km away, and Rio de Janeiro International Airport (Galeão) is 18 km away.

Works well for either a business trip or a leisure stay, though it feels a bit dated.
