Pousada Recanto de Minas

Wonderful food and truly outstanding service. It’s worth checking out.

The prices are affordable, and the soft drinks come nicely chilled. Still, the restaurant experience was just okay. The lighting is poor, making it hard to see the menu and food, and there aren’t enough waiters, so service can be slow when it’s busy. Better lighting and quicker service would make the meal much more pleasant.

They made us pay in advance, and the rooms were filthy. There was no remote control, the TV didn’t work, the bathrooms were disgusting, and the power kept going out. Breakfast was half a bread roll, and the coffee ran out constantly. We had to wait for the staff member to feel like making more. The advertised pool does exist, but it’s a tiny children’s pool, filthy and full of mosquitoes, with hardly enough room for a child. People looking for inns on these sites can end up being misled like we were. The owner should stop lying and being so greedy, and provide better coffee for guests instead of keeping a hand in their pocket. I’ve never seen a place charge before you’ve even had your stay.

There’s a good variety of dishes and salads, with good food, fair prices and good service. The place is peaceful too.
