Breakfast was the bright spot: it was good, and they changed things up during my three nights. The rest of the stay was frustrating. I had to upgrade from an economy room just to get any natural light. The first room faced a wall, and although they tried to tell me the partial-view room was bigger, it was the same size. Using the microwave was another struggle. The night receptionist said the kitchen had no microwave, but the restaurant manager confirmed the next day that it did. A waiter gave me several reasons I couldn't use it, then allowed it after I insisted. I'm traveling around Brazil, and nowhere else has made such a problem of warming food. The receptionist seemed annoyed while I tried to communicate through a translation app and wanted to get back to watching videos on his phone. When I arrived, staff watched guests come in without offering help with luggage. I've had better service at cheaper hotels. This should be basic hotel training, and it made a poor first impression. I felt most of the staff lacked basic customer service skills. Training them is the manager's responsibility, if they care. Also, none of the economy rooms get natural sunlight. I didn't want to spend all three days looking at a wall, so I paid extra for the partial view.

My husband and I have traveled a lot, but these were the worst 14 days we've ever spent on a trip. We just wanted to get home to the USA safe and healthy. The room was dirty, with mold in the bathrooms, and so many things were broken: the toilet flush, shower, and air conditioning. We asked to be moved, and I was attended to, though the wording about the bed is unclear. There is no parking, and after arriving I went straight to the hospital because I had broken my foot. I spent three nights away from the hotel, leaving our bags and boxes of chocolates for our grandchildren there. Reception had the air conditioning turned off, and all the chocolates melted. When I raised it with Mr. Victor at the front desk, he dismissed me and said the hotel couldn't lose electricity because of guests. If the items had been medicine instead of chocolates, I would have lost everything. Then at breakfast today my husband choked on a hair he found in the pineapple. We can only describe this stay as a horror trip.

The area is decent, and getting around to most places means taking an Uber. The hotel itself could use better bedrooms, and the quality isn't great. There are no elevators either. The staff were nice, helpful, and polite.

The rooms were super clean, and you're just a second from the beach. When I got sick, Danielle was incredibly kind and looked after me so well. Amazing hospitality and a great location. Highly recommended!
