I felt there was no consideration for us. We could have been told in advance that we couldn’t stay, instead of arriving from a trip and waiting a long time to get an answer before being sent somewhere else. I’d made reservations, but after several attempts to reach the guesthouse by phone and messages, someone finally answered. At first they said it was a leak. I was directed to another place, where we were treated well, to be fair. After the situation was explained, the man said it was probably overbooking, and that this happens and they help each other out in these cases. The next day I had to go back to the guesthouse for breakfast because the place where I stayed didn’t offer it.

The room was freezing, and the sink leaked. The owner was very rude, and if you questioned anything she’d respond by shouting. Breakfast was left out late, and the next day some of it was served after sitting exposed to insects. The price was pretty steep, with nothing sweet to offer, and the place looks very different from what was advertised. It was a thoroughly bad experience.

The worst place I’ve ever stayed. It wasn’t a guesthouse, just a badly put-together, dirty shack, and we didn’t feel able to stay.

Toninho was cordial, and we have no complaints about that. The breakfast was quite basic and lacked variety, though it tasted good and was acceptable. We stayed at Pousada Vila Rica in Ouro Preto from June 19 to June 22, 2025, and several things left us disappointed. The historic center is walkable, but it’s 1,400 meters away, about a 15-minute walk, so it isn’t that close. I paid for a “Suite Standard,” but our room didn’t look like the photo. I believe we were given the cheaper “Quarto Duplo Standard” instead. The bathroom was a mess: water leaked from the shower enclosure and left the floor wet. I reported it and asked for towels or another room. They said they were full, apologized, and brought towels. That helped contain the water but didn’t fix the problem. The ceiling also had leaks, and the room stayed damp and cold. Even our medicines, while still closed, softened from the humidity.
