Rosângela, who handles the stay and maintenance, was easy to reach on WhatsApp and helped arrange a transfer to the Ouro Preto bus station with Sr. Arlindo. They were both kind and made us feel at ease throughout our four-day stay. The apartment was spacious and attractive, with a good bathroom and a lovely view of the mountains. My wife wished it had a blender for making soup on days when few restaurants are open, Monday through Thursday, and somewhere to set bags and backpacks. We knew there were bars and restaurants nearby and expected some noise, since that’s outside the pousada’s control. What bothered us was neighbors and staff from a nearby restaurant talking and laughing loudly after 10 p.m. on quiet nights. People should remember Rua da Fonte has pousadas where guests come to rest, not listen to other people’s conversations or loud speakers. I don’t know how long the place has been operating, but sound insulation could be a good investment down the road.
