The setting is beautiful, but the room was too cold to stay in during winter. I had told them ahead of time that I was pregnant, yet the portable heaters had all run out and I was left without heat. That’s not the service I expected from a place like this. One of the window panes in my room was broken, too.

The restaurant serves sophisticated dishes while still keeping the character of Minas Gerais cuisine. This place feels like an oasis away from Ouro Preto’s crowded, narrow streets, with cold, fresh waterfalls about 2 kilometers away. The drive from downtown goes along a narrow road through a suburb. There are signs at key spots, but if you lose your way, you can stop and ask for directions.
