Chalé do Tibet

I’m writing about a reservation I made through Booking for Chalé Tibet Vale da Utopia, which Eliane Tebet canceled a few hours later. I booked at 11:13 a.m. on November 21, 2024, for December 30, 2024 through January 2, 2025. At 1:21 p.m., I got an email saying it had been canceled because I hadn’t paid the deposit within one hour. I’d gone to lunch and only saw the email when I got back. When I called the inn, I was told the room had already been given to someone else because I missed that one-hour payment window. I don’t think that policy is reasonable for a customer. At the time of booking, they only said that 50% of the total price had to be prepaid after the reservation. They didn’t say it would be canceled after an hour. I feel disrespected as a customer, both by what happened and by Eliane’s response on the phone. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

The owners were welcoming, polite, and very helpful from the moment I arrived until I left. The place feels peaceful, and the value for money is great. I had a room with a balcony and really liked the outdoor area. I went for the first time to get away from routine and unwind, and loved the beautiful beach and wonderful trail. I’ll be back soon!

The host was a really nice guy, and the location is great for a fair price. We had a barbecue and had a really good time.

The owners, a couple, are very attentive and do their best to make your stay comfortable. The spot is quiet and close to both the beach and a few trails, and the value is hard to beat. There are different kinds of straightforward, decent accommodations, including options for groups going to the beach. One thing to know: on cold days the shower is cold, so bring an adventurous spirit for bath time. The cheaper rooms are divided in two by a thin wooden wall, and you can hear every conversation and noise from next door. That’s fine if you don’t mind, but there are more private options at a somewhat higher price. It’s a good place to stay if you’re looking for something affordable.
