Pousada Boliche

We loved our time at this pousada. Great location and top-notch service, plus the pool and hot tub were spectacular.

The young staff deserve a special mention, they were lovely, kind, and took good care of us. There are lots of facilities, including a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, bowling, games room, and a little corner for kids. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good, but the place could use more attention to detail overall. There's a woman, who I imagine is the owner, who smokes constantly in the hallway leading to the rooms, and the smoke gets into them. Again, big congratulations to the young staff! And Guarda really is paradise.

Horrible experience. My husband and I came as volunteers, and we saw a lot of differences in how volunteers were treated. Ricardo treated us badly even though we were doing our job. I don't think he can expect so much just to give us a roof over our heads, since we had to pay for everything else. He also made us leave the pousada spotless, which saves him from having to pay an employee. The volunteer rooms were cramped, hot, and ugly, and heavy rain came into the room we were staying in. You can't have volunteers living like that. Marina and Alexander are very nice people, but when they started arguing, guests and volunteers had to listen to their problems. Horrible, I don't recommend this place as a guest or a volunteer!

The beach and town center are close by, and the place is very comfortable. A great stay.
