Pousada Dunas da guarda

We arrived here after a last-minute reservation problem at another pousada the day before our trip. Diana quickly found us the same dates at Pousada Dunas da Guarda and welcomed us warmly; we also met her husband, who is a host too. It's peaceful and just a few meters from the beach, with a nice pool and breakfast prepared by the hosts and their family. Some people have left negative reviews, and any pousada can have problems that don't suit everyone. For us, the hosts' kindness, respect, and welcoming attitude made the stay worthwhile. The overall place is simple and calm, just right if you want to rest.

For a daily rate of 990,00, I expected more. The rooms were very basic, and the double mattress was terribly uncomfortable, sinking when I lay down. The towels were poor quality, and the bedding smelled bad. Our room had a side door opening onto a "laundry room," which caused noise, and the parking setup was confusing. At breakfast, an employee kept talking and complaining about someone else, which felt very unprofessional. There was only one juice option, and it wasn't pleasant. I didn't enjoy the stay.

The bathroom felt cramped and looked dirty, and there was an odd smell in the room. They didn't change the towels during our stay, despite what the listing said. Based on the online reviews, I had expected better.

We were welcomed so warmly, and the family atmosphere was lovely. The breakfast was spectacular, with lots of variety, all prepared with care. The rooms were very clean and had everything needed. It's close to the beach, and the pool was great too.
