Pousada Familia Quandt

Guarda do Embaú made for a wonderful holiday, and the inn exceeded what we expected. It’s simple but comfortable, and we slept especially well thanks to the good bed, air conditioning, and quiet. Our host, Sra. Paula, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made us feel at ease. I highly recommend it.

Paula, the owner, and Rô, who handles the cleaning, were incredibly welcoming. Pousada Família Quandt is also a great spot for pets. My Labrador was made to feel welcome and had a very comfortable stay, so if you’re traveling with a pet, this is a good choice. The cabins are in a calm, quiet spot in the center of Guarda, close to the beach, and they were very clean and cool. The shared kitchen was spotless and had dishes plus things like salt and oil that we often forget to bring. The cabins also have a good shower. Few places deserve such a high rating. The place itself was nice, but we felt watched for making any noise. We were in the “Community” kitchen when someone came over to tell us off for being there. One of the women with us has anxiety attacks and became very unwell. It seemed that people from one particular chalet had complained about us for no clear reason. The owner even asked guests in other chalets if we were bothering them, and they said no. I’ve canceled all the reservations I had for Christmas and other dates, and I’ll never return. Good luck to anyone who books.

You’ll be warmly welcomed at Pousada Família Quandt, which I recommend. It’s close to everything in Guarda do Embaú, including the town center, shops, restaurants, bakery, and pharmacy. Paula, the owner, can share great tips about this paradise. Guarda do Embaú is the 9th World Surfing Reserve (RMS) and the first in Brazil to receive that designation.
