The house has a lot going for it: spacious rooms, a pleasant outdoor area with a table among the gardens, and well-kept gardens. With the windows open, it gets good airflow, and being able to move around the outside of the house adds to the comfort. There’s clear potential here. But the listing made it hard to tell which photos showed the individually rented rooms and which showed the whole house, so it was difficult to know what to expect before arriving. Several cleaning and maintenance issues affected our stay. In the kitchen, the chair seats were dusty and the tablecloth was stained. The window above the stove had no proper finish, had cobwebs, and some broken glass. The cookware was very old and in poor condition, including rusty, heavily worn pans. There was nothing to light the stove on the first day, making breakfast difficult, though the host kindly brought matches later. There was no dish rack, ants kept appearing, and the water jug stand had dirty leftover water and insects, an issue already mentioned at check-in. Electronics hanging between the kitchen and living room also looked unattractive and could be a safety concern. The bathroom had no hot shower water, insects, and a makeshift drain with a stone. The liquid soap was heavily diluted, and for three people staying five days there wasn’t enough toilet paper. None was replenished after we asked. A dead cockroach was in the shower stall at check-in and was promptly removed, but it added to the sense that pest control needs attention. On our last night, there were many cockroaches in the living room, apparently coming from the sofa. It made us uncomfortable and feel unsafe. The furniture needs a careful inspection, and the whole house needs proper pest treatment. There’s only one mirror, in the bathroom, and it isn’t full-length. Hammocks weren’t available at first despite the hooks, and were provided only after we asked. There’s no TV, beach umbrella, or beach chairs, which may be inconvenient for guests coming from far away. The nearest beach has little tourist infrastructure, just one stall that’s usually crowded. The street had a strong, unpleasant smell, possibly temporary, but it affected our experience. The nearby beach is pretty, though crowded, not very clean, and lacking basic facilities for tourists. This property has real potential, but it needs urgent improvements to cleaning, maintenance, insect control, and essential supplies to meet the standard we expected from a listing on the platform.

We were welcomed so warmly. It’s close to the waterfront, and the room was very clean, with a spacious bathroom. Great value, too, and you can choose to have breakfast or not.

Dona Ju is such a sweetheart. Her wonderful hospitality made me feel at home the whole time. The rooms are a good size, clean, and well cared for, and breakfast kept me satisfied. The electric shower worked well and had hot water, which hasn’t always been the case at places I’ve stayed. The pousada is very close to Pedra do Meio beach. Getting to the center means taking a car or mototaxi; it’s nearby, but a bit of a walk. I’d recommend this place to anyone heading to Paracuru, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I return.
