Meraki

The shared rooms worked well, and there are two bathrooms. The common area is quiet, with a nice kitchen, and the location is central, near a good supermarket and pharmacies, about 1km from the historic center. I didn't use the pool since it didn't look very clean, haha. The mixed dorm room itself was nice. Finding this hostel in Pguá was a great surprise! Prices around this city are pretty high if you're on a tight budget, so it's an option to consider if shared spaces don't bother you.

At first the place seemed fine, then I got to the room and it was like an oven, hotter than the sun, with no window. I booked a private room, but the TV wouldn't turn on, they didn't give me a towel for my shower, the whole place smelled musty, and the mattress sank when I lay down. I'd told them I was leaving at 5 in the morning, but nobody answered the phone and there was no one at reception. Terrible place. For 150 reais, not even being able to shower, watch TV, or get a decent night's sleep, come on.

Nicoly made the stay especially easy with great suggestions for daytime outings, lunch spots, and bars. I’m from São Paulo and didn’t know Paranaguá at all, so the welcoming feel at Meraki Hostel was a really lovely surprise. It had a great vibe, too. I definitely don’t regret choosing it and would recommend it to everyone.

Our car was parked right in front of Meraki, and the area felt safe. The location was another big plus: after checking in, I had work appointments, and to my surprise they were all close to where we were staying. Our host Nicoli was very attentive and even offered us a ride to the port. Her warmth and professionalism really stood out. Meraki was the best place to stay during my brief work trip to Paranaguá. I highly recommend it, and we’re truly grateful for the welcome.
