Eliconial Paraty Pousada

We had a great stay at Eliconial Pousada and would highly recommend it. The garden is beautifully laid out, with a nice pool, and the property is very clean. Our room had everything we needed, a comfortable bed, and a hot shower. Ricardo and Ivan were friendly and helpful, and the staff were caring and well chosen. Special thanks to Denise for the amazing breakfast. We followed the hosts' recommendations and were glad we did.

The breakfast was a highlight every day, with fresh fruit, bread, crepes, and strong coffee. We stayed at Ricardo & Yvan’s Eliconial Pousada over New Year's and felt like we were with lifelong friends. After staying at pousadas across Brazil, this was by far the cleanest, with the most thoughtful touches and the highest quality bedding and towels. The rooms were very clean, well equipped, and reminded us of a Tahitian villa. Even the cats were a lovely bonus. Thanks for a memorable stay. We can't wait to return!

With only six rooms, this lovely place sits in a beautiful garden with a pool. Breakfast was excellent. It's on the edge of town, so it's quiet, though the walk into town is long. There's a great restaurant nearby on the beach.

Ivan made us feel like we were guests at a friend's holiday home. He was a great host, suggesting good local restaurants, making reservations, and always ready with ideas for tours and things to do. Denise, who makes breakfast, was kind enough to offer tapioca instead of a crepe when I mentioned my dietary restrictions. Breakfast was excellent, and all the pousada staff helped make our time in Paraty special. The pousada was just what we wanted: quiet and peaceful, with a garden that felt like a private rainforest. Its location let us walk to the historical centre while staying somewhere more secluded, near both the beach and rainforest. Everything was excellent.
