Hostel Sereia do Mar

I ordered the grilled prawn salad because I’m gluten free, but it arrived with fully battered prawns. I tried peeling off some of the coating, but there was only about 1/2 a cm of prawn, and it was frozen. I complained that it was frozen and not grilled, but the staff brought back the same battered prawns, just cooked again. I gave up, ate five slices of tomato, and left. I told management at the counter and they gave me a 50% discount, but I was very unhappy to be served frozen food that didn’t match the menu. The food was terrible. The staff seemed nice, but they weren’t helpful and were disorganized. It was 1pm at lunchtime and only two other tables were ordering. Very disappointing, would never recommend.

The staff were really friendly, and I was welcomed well. I arrived much earlier than expected and they still gave me my room. It was clean and in a good location in Paraty. I recommend it.

Loved the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. Everything was amazing, and we’re definitely coming back ❤️❤️❤️

The live music was the one good part, and the singer was nice. I can’t say how the accommodation is, but the restaurant was horrible. The burger was wildly overpriced for what it was. They called it "artesanal", but it tasted like cheap supermarket burger meat, and I couldn’t finish it even though I was hungry. The pizza was overpriced too, poor quality, and the worst I’ve ever tried. Service was unfriendly and unwelcoming. I’d never go back or recommend it.
