For a very low price, this is a solid hostel that does the job. The beds were surprisingly comfortable for an eight-bed dorm, and a towel, locker and lock were included. There was also a bathroom in the dorm. Someone was at the desk around the clock, and I felt very secure. The town itself also felt very safe. I might have arrived at an odd time, but I was alone in my dorm and saw just one other guest, so it didn’t feel very social. Breakfast was mostly bread, with some fruit and cold cuts, plus coffee and tea. Not much for anyone who’s gluten-free. The owners were friendly, but they only speak Portuguese, so I couldn’t communicate with them. The common area was nice, with a small kitchen and hammocks. During breakfast, the cutest little monkeys came by to say hi.

They were very accommodating when we arrived early and left late, and there was a decent breakfast with drinking water available. The hostel was really clean, with a lovely common area. I didn’t use the kitchen, but it looked clean too. An excellent stay in Paraty!

I liked staying here. It’s very close to the historic centre, and breakfast was good. The kitchen looked decent for cooking, too. It’s for women only.

I had a wonderful few days at Livina Hostel. It has a great atmosphere and lots of international tourists. I really liked the location, the breakfast, and the fact that it’s women-only. The team was always helpful, and the rooms were cleaned every day and kept well organized. A couple of things could be improved: add outlets and shelves by each bed, and more hooks for clothes in the bathroom.
