Pousada Coco Verde

It’s clean and in a really convenient location. Still, I feel the price could be lower, or the place could offer a bit more for what it costs.

The location is a big plus, about a three-minute walk from the main entrance to the historic center. On the street beside it, the main road has bars, good restaurants, a pharmacy and lots of shops. I recommend boteco do quintal for the Tesourão drink. Marina welcomed us warmly, was helpful, suggested good outings and even shared contacts for private cars in case we needed them. At checkout, a very attentive guy whose name I’ve forgotten, sorry, kept our bags when we had to leave at noon for a 14:40 bus, so we could have lunch and wander around a bit more. The pousada is small and very cozy. Our room smelled fresh and was impeccably clean, with a nice straw decoration and a bedside lamp that made it feel charming at night. There was a counter, shelf and hangers, which came in handy. The clean minibar cooled things well. We used the air conditioning just once, and it made the room comfortable for sleeping in about five minutes. The electric shower was still good enough for a satisfying wash. Breakfast runs from 8 to 10. The dining room is fairly small but fits people comfortably. A very friendly, helpful older woman was in the kitchen in the morning and always offered scrambled eggs. The buffet had around three kinds of bread, cold cuts, cakes, sweet pies, a very tasty savory pastry, pão de queijo, fruit, granola, honey, juice and a few other things. I found it quite satisfying. I didn’t take photos because I was so taken with the city. I hope this helps you decide. It’s well worth staying here, I’d absolutely come back. Getting around on foot was easy from here. It’s close to the bus station and historic center, and we felt comfortable and safe without needing to rent transport. The team were kind, attentive and always ready to help, and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast was a highlight each day, fresh and delicious, with breads, sweets, juices, fruit and more, all prepared with care. We also appreciated how flexible the service was from the start, which made a real difference to our trip. We left very satisfied and definitely hope to return.
