The beach here is beautiful, with calm, clear water that’s great for kayaking or snorkeling near the rocks, corals, and fish. That’s just one reason Bora Hostel Cajaíba started to feel like a second home to me. I worked remotely from the hostel without any trouble thanks to the really good internet. It’s a large, cozy place with an optional breakfast that was delicious, and Gabriel and Roger, the owners, made me feel so welcome. It’s in a great spot in Pouso, very close to the beach, almost right on the sand. Pedra Frutada, a lookout with a wonderful view over the whole beach, is about five minutes away. Next to the hostel there’s also a Tamarindo covered in Barba de Velho bromeliads, one of the symbols of Pouso da Cajaíba. It makes the tree look spectacular.

The staff were attentive and fun, and it felt like being welcomed into good friends’ home. The owners were incredibly welcoming too. The internet worked well, especially in the common area, and having a hot shower was a real plus. If you drink a lot of water like I do, don’t worry about it here. The water comes straight from the waterfall and is really fresh. I drank it from the kitchen or bathroom tap throughout my 10-day stay and never got sick.

I finally understand the look in people’s eyes when they talked about this paradise. It’s a beautiful place with such positive energy, and the hostel feels so cozy. The owners and staff are incredibly welcoming, which makes a big difference during a stay. I’d return a million times and will share my photos of the place. “Only the good things last long enough to become unforgettable...” Wise words from Chorão.

I felt so well looked after at Bora Hostel. The rooms are really comfortable, and the setup makes it easy to work remotely. It’s also in a great location. I’d definitely recommend it!
