The pool was hard to use because there was no ladder to help people get in. This was especially difficult for people who are obese or have mobility limitations. There are also many stairs around the inn, making it hard to get around if you need more inclusive access. The inn had no basic items or guest support, which made things even harder given how far away everything is. The location is extremely far from any useful services. The nearest market is about a 30-minute walk, getting there is difficult, and Uber isn’t available in the area. Despite what we were told, the inn isn’t on the beach. This lack of nearby facilities made the other problems even worse. We didn’t feel welcomed when we arrived. The reception staff weren’t attentive, and we felt as if we were bothering them. Breakfast was disappointing, with little variety and poor replenishment. Some items seemed to be reused from the day before, which made us uncomfortable and concerned. We also found cockroaches in the room, adding to the feeling that upkeep and cleaning were inadequate. There was an incident during our stay involving a child who made inappropriate comments, which made people uncomfortable. The adults responsible didn’t guide or intervene, making it harder to get along at the inn. It was clear at several points that there wasn’t a proper team to handle situations like this, just family members running things. We expected a quiet, pleasant break, but the stay was very different from what we’d imagined and became frustrating for all of us. I sincerely hope these issues are looked at so other people don’t have the same problems.

Our group of 46 passengers loved the experience at Pousada Marimar. The rooms and suites surprised everyone: clean and well cared for, with spotless bathrooms and comfortable beds. The whole group also praised the pool area, and breakfast was perfect, fresh, varied, and prepared with care. Mariano and Dona Leia made a real difference to our trip. From the start, they welcomed us warmly and attentively, with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at home. We’re grateful to them for looking after our group, and we’re already thinking about another trip there. See you soon! The inn is in the Patrimônio neighborhood of Paraty, about 7 minutes from Trindade beach. It isn’t right in central Trindade, but that wasn’t a problem for us. We hired executive vans to take the group to the places on our itinerary, and that worked really well. It’s a good option if you’re driving. If you’re going without a vehicle, you’ll need to take a bus on the highway, but it’s still well worth it. It’s also about 25 minutes from Paraty’s Historic Center, so it’s a practical base for visiting Trindade and getting into town. The service was excellent, the facilities very good, and everything stayed clean and organized.
