Villa Ostello Pousada

Henrique and Ju made us feel so welcome. The owners are a lovely, smiling couple, and it was easy to chat even though I'm French and my Portuguese isn't good. There's greenery and fruit trees everywhere, with flowers all around. Breakfast was excellent, with garden fruit and everything homemade. The sea is a five-minute walk away. I loved staying here and hope I can return one day.

The breakfast is really good, and the place feels cozy, rustic, and picturesque, though it isn't luxurious. Keep in mind this is a pousada, not a hotel. If you're very demanding, don't write the place off for that, just pay a lot more and stay at a hotel.

The pousada is beautiful and leafy, with lots of contact with nature, and the owners and staff are kind, polite, and always attentive. Breakfast was great for me: six items besides the usual fixed ones were plenty, and it was a satisfying meal. The location is convenient too, with the beaches close enough to walk to. The rooms do have a couple of drawbacks. The shower doesn't heat up very well, and in some rooms the toilet and shower are in separate areas. Getting in and out of the pousada by car is also difficult if you have a medium or low car. The entrance is narrow, and sometimes the bumper catches.

A cozy, peaceful place, with lovely touches everywhere. The breakfast deserves a mention too, thoughtfully made and personalized.
