The stay itself was good, but the poor service means we wouldn’t return or recommend the hotel. It didn’t feel like the “boutique” service or training others have mentioned either. We arrived in the morning to an empty hotel, with just one other family there, and nobody offered to help with our luggage. A woman at reception stayed seated and didn’t greet us. Another staff member looked me up and down before saying check-in was after 15:00, though she could see what they could do. We did eventually get into our room early, but by then the mood had soured. We had expected a warm welcome, a chance to see the grounds, and to feel looked after. Guests may arrive before check-in, especially when travelling by plane, and the staff should be trained to greet them courteously. That’s a basic part of hospitality.

The hotel is well located by a beautiful beach. Breakfast was excellent, the spa was very good, and the gym was well equipped and air-conditioned. Stand Up boards and bikes were available, and the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. We did run into three serious problems. The hotel restaurant was extremely slow, taking about an hour per dish, even though the food tasted good. At 08:00, loud saw noise from construction beside our room woke us up, which was very disruptive in a place meant for resting. The pillows were moldy and had mites, which is unacceptable for a luxury hotel.

The restaurant was a real highlight. We got to try almost everything on the menu of starters, main courses, and desserts, and it was all delicious, beautifully presented, and fairly priced for the quality. The rooms and location were lovely too, but what stood out most was how polite and kind every staff member was. We stayed for three nights, and if we’d known from the start how perfect it would be, we would have spent the whole trip there. It was easily our best experience in Alagoas. We’ll definitely recommend it and come back!

We loved everything at Paru and will definitely return. The hotel is wonderful, right on Praia do Marceneiro. Édson was attentive and gave us great service, as did the team at the pool and beach. The restaurant waitresses were lovely and had the best suggestions.
