The staff were incredibly kind, especially Leo and Rosi, who went out of their way to make me feel welcome and encouraged me to try the local food. The hotel itself is amazing, with beautiful amenities. The tapioca, Cartola, and Cuscus are all well worth trying.

This inn has a lot of potential, and the place itself is VERY nice, but the stay was full of problems from the moment we arrived. Some reception staff made no effort to speak more slowly or understand us. If you don't speak Portuguese, service from several employees is poor, though some were very friendly. The toilet was broken, the water was the color of urine, and they weren't tracking our consumption properly. At checkout I was billed for what another room had used. The pool was out of use for two days while they worked on it, with green water. I understand setting aside a morning to clean it, but two days is a lot. There's foosball, table tennis, and a volleyball court, but somehow no balls. Breakfast was mediocre, not buffet style, slow to arrive, and with few choices. Some employees weren't friendly. For the price and the reviews I'd seen, I expected much more. The value for money just isn't there.

The one good part was how politely and attentively the staff treated me. The room itself, Sapoti, was close to reception and noisy from the street, the reception area, and all the guests coming and going. It also had a connecting door to another room, so I could hear the guests next door constantly, even opening the minibar and using their phones. I asked to move, but was told the inn was full. The bathroom water was extremely yellow, rusty, and smelly. I asked them to look into it, and they said it was being treated, but during my two-day stay there was no change. The inn's facilities are poor for the amount I paid, and I could have stayed somewhere else. Book early so you don't end up in this situation. I don't recommend it. The inn is beside the village of marceneiro, which you can reach on foot.
