Pousada Graff

Being close to Beto Carrero World was the one real plus, since it made getting to the park easy. That didn't make up for the poor service or the rest of the experience. The staff lacked basic courtesy, organization, and attention to guests. Breakfast was another letdown: very little choice, cakes that looked old, coffee that had clearly been reheated, and not enough food for the guests. My stay was disappointing and didn't meet expectations. They need to improve both the way guests are treated and the quality of breakfast.

The location is genuinely convenient, close enough to the park that you can walk there. But that was the only part of the stay I liked, and I won't return or recommend it. The breakfast was extremely basic, with very little variety and quality below what I expected. Staff came into the room each day just to straighten the sheets, without properly cleaning. The floor wasn't swept, the bathroom wasn't cleaned, and water collecting in the sink made it look dirty. The owner was rude, didn't answer a simple good morning, and acted as if hosting us were a favor. At checkout I handed over the key, but got no instructions. I had to ask whether everything was settled or whether I needed to sign anything. Nobody thanked us or asked how our stay had been. After 10 p.m. there was loud talking and shouting from the owner and her children, who live at the inn. The owner was calling out to the kids, and the noise woke my husband. Benches by the downstairs room doors also took away any privacy. People sat almost at the entrances watching videos loudly, which was a constant nuisance. There are lots of rules, but the place doesn't provide the basic facilities and respect guests should expect. It felt like money mattered much more than service or guests' comfort.

The staff's hospitality was a highlight. Everyone was very polite and up for a friendly chat. Breakfast was simple but complete, delicious, and a great way to start the day. Pousada Graff is a welcoming, well-kept place, and the value in Penha, Santa Catarina is excellent. The city also has a real home-cooking feel, with dishes that let the ingredients' flavor come through. Definitely worth it.

The location is very convenient, near the park, restaurants, and beach. Our towels were changed daily, and the rooms have air conditioning, which was nice. We could leave our bags at reception while we went to the market and then lunch. The breakfast was basic and didn't match the advertised “natural juices, yogurts and selected fruits.” There was just one orange-flavored juice, not natural, and one yogurt option. After 10 p.m. we could hear noise from the third floor, including chairs dragging, children running, and balls bouncing, which made it hard to rest. Morning and afternoon reception, apparently the owner, felt unfriendly and short on warmth. We arrived before check-in and asked if the room was ready. We were told it was, but that going in early would cost R$ 60.00, even though we only wanted to leave our bags and change clothes. At checkout we had to ask whether anything else was needed or we had to sign, since nobody gave us directions or even said thank you. Given the experience, I can't recommend it.
