Hotel Avenida

Our first night at Hotel Haloha was awful. The spring mattress was badly worn, with springs sticking into our backs, and the air conditioner made such a deafening racket that we had to turn it off and choose between the noise and the heat. The next day they swapped it for a foam mattress, but we could feel every bed slat through it. Breakfast wasn’t any better: cold coffee at 8 a.m., no fruit options, and a juice that tasted like water with coloring and sugar. I still don’t know what flavor it was. We arrived on Sunday, April 19, 2026, for our reservation for a superior double room with air conditioning and a 1 p.m. check-in. There wasn’t a room available, so they offered us a basement room without air conditioning. We refused, and they eventually sorted it out, but it was already 4 p.m. No one even apologized, and we were just handed the key to suite 1 upstairs. Nobody showed us to the room or helped us find it. Patrícia and Mara, who dealt with us, are simple people who try to be helpful as much as they can. The problem is the very weak facilities the hotel offers.

My parents left early because staying without water was impossible, but they weren’t refunded for the unused night. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to anyone. They stayed from December 30, 2025 to January 2, 2026. Getting a quote was difficult from the start because replies would suddenly stop, so we had to contact the hotel from two different phones. Then we got two different prices per person. They eventually agreed to the lower one, but it didn’t seem like there was a set rate; it seemed to depend on what they wanted to charge. The room seemed simple but clean enough when they arrived. During the stay, breakfast was very poor. They accommodated more guests than the breakfast area could seat, and it took a long time to refill the food, so if you missed something, it might be a while before it came back. There was also no water. They said it was because of Sabesp, but from what I saw this wasn’t the first year it had happened. I think the hotel’s infrastructure can’t handle a full house and its water tank is too small for the number of guests. When we asked how the cleaners were managing without water, we were told they were cleaning with pool water. That was disgusting.

Patrícia was very attentive, and that was the best part of the experience. My friends and I were looking for the nearest hotel after being caught in the flooding on February 21, 2026. We explained the situation, and she called the owner. We needed a shower and thought we might stay for five hours. They charged R$ 300.00 for three adults, but we ended up staying only 1 hour and 20 minutes. We needed help, but the price didn’t feel fair. I left feeling they’d taken advantage of our situation to make money, even though we’d explained what had happened. Our car had filled with water, and we got out through the window. That’s the short version of the experience.

The hotel is simple but in a good spot, close to the beach. Patrícia has helped my family and my husband and me a few times, and she’s always helpful and polite. I recommend it!
