We always make a stop at Quintal do Manema for lunch when we go to Guaraú. The fish is our favorite, especially the breaded tilapia, crisp outside and tender inside. The food has a comforting, home-cooked taste, with lightly seasoned dishes, fluffy rice, well-cooked beans and fresh salad. The daily plates are joined by moquecas and parmegianas, though fish is still the standout. Everything is made with care and heart, without any fuss. The rustic yard setting feels like visiting relatives in a fishing village: packed-earth ground, wooden tables and a warm, homey look. Birds singing and leaves rustling in the breeze make it feel tucked away from traffic and noise. Service is friendly and quick, even when it’s busy, and the portions are generous for fair prices. If you’re in Peruíbe and want a simple, tasty meal away from the more touristy places, Quintal do Manema is a lovely find. It’s the kind of place you almost want to keep to yourself, but it deserves to be shared.

The vaca atolada they serve on Sundays is a must. So delicious 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We chose Manema at the last minute, and what a great decision. We met Rodolfo, the owner and chef, who was incredibly nice, friendly, humble and welcoming. It has a family-friendly, well-lit camping atmosphere, with rooms available. We got the last room, almost right on the sand. The Balça bridge gives you a special route through the mangroves and over the river, ending at Praia do Guaraú. The restaurant serves all kinds of distinctive dishes created by the chef. The bolinho was a burst of flavor. If you come here, try it!

The restaurant is the highlight at Quintal do Manema. They work skillfully with local ingredients, using both the stove and the grill, and the food will leave an impression. The campground has internet and phone service, a shared kitchen, lighting, water and private bathrooms. The inn offers even more comfort for good value. It’s in a great spot, very close to beautiful Praia de Guaraú. Definitely worth checking out.

There’s also a delicious restaurant at Quintal do Manema, and I’ll definitely be back. The setting is wonderful, right in nature: no buildings in sight, just mountains, forest, birds, wildlife and the freshwater river meeting the sea. The beach is close, about an 8-minute walk across the wooden boardwalk over the crab-filled mangrove. From there, an easy trail has amazing views the whole way.
