The area around the hotel looked pretty sketchy, so I was glad I ended up leaving. I’d arrived at 2 AM, exhausted after my bus was delayed by more than 11 hours. The unfriendly man at reception spent over 10 minutes trying to work out why he couldn’t find my booking, which had been made for the wrong date. He didn’t offer to book me a room on the spot, even though I understood I’d have to pay for it, or to call another hotel if they were full. Nothing. I had to stand outside and look for somewhere nearby myself. Customer service seems a thing of the past at mediocre places like this, with no consideration for guests, especially foreigners like me who could really use a bit of friendly help.
