The rooms are spacious, the bedding is excellent, and the bathrooms were clean. They always leave more than one towel in the room. I couldn’t try breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. The internet was awful and needs improvement. It’s a peaceful, pleasant place in a very old house with a lot of history. The old-house smell is strong, but it suits the building and made the stay feel more authentic. The service was warm and welcoming. Depending on the time, you might not find the night staff member, but that seems to be normal there since they give you a key to the hotel’s front door along with your room key. I’d definitely recommend it.

The house could use some maintenance, but it’s a lovely old place with excellent service. Breakfast is generous and includes Brazilian specialties. It’s perfect for a night’s stay.

If you like historic houses, this inn is just right, and it really puts you in the mood of the city. Everything was lovely. Joaquim, the host, was kind and helpful. We’ll definitely come back to the same inn.

The room was spacious, and the bedding was comfortable and just right for the cold weather that weekend. The whole place felt cozy, with a warm, family style of service and lovely background music that suited the setting. Breakfast was perfect too. I did wish the shower had stronger pressure, maybe a gas shower. Other than that, everything was great. We’ll definitely be back!

Breakfast was tasty, though nothing amazing. There are always three kinds of juice, homemade cake, French bread, cold cuts, coffee, milk, and water for tea. Cheese bread, savory snacks, carolinas, and canudos are only available on weekends. The bathroom shower was awful. The inn seemed clean enough overall, but during my stay it looked like no cleaning was done.
