Hotel Colinas de Petropolis

I even took an aerial photo. The bed was wonderful, and the place felt lovely and full of promise. Breakfast seemed just right for one person. I don't know why I saw so many complaints about it. I thought it was plentiful enough. We need the healthy essentials, not a banquet.

We arrived at an unusual time, but check-in was no problem at all. The reception staff were very attentive, and I really liked how pleasant and relaxing the experience was.

It's a beautiful hotel with tasteful decor. The room was great, the bathroom too, and there was a bathtub in the shower enclosure. The bed was huge, and the comforter and blanket were nice and warm. I would come back, hoping for a quieter stay. The hotel is peaceful, though I guess I was unlucky to be there at the same time as a noisy group. They made a lot of noise in the corridors at night, then carried on at breakfast, sounding like a whole Maracanã bar. People should use some judgment and respect, and not talk so loudly that everyone has to shout over them like they're in a nightclub. Breakfast started at 8:00, but when I arrived at 8:10 there were only four slices of ham, and I thought there wasn't much of some other food either. The road up to the hotel is a small, sloping street, but thankfully it's paved.

The street noise kept us up, and bugs got into the room overnight because the glass door to the balcony was stuck. We’d paid for the “best” room, but couldn’t use the whirlpool: the faucet button came off and flooded the bathroom. The place looked neglected, and the reception was unfriendly. Breakfast was pretty poor too. Not a pleasant stay.
