Pousada do Lago Petrópolis

We booked through Booking on friends’ recommendation and stayed in suite 08, with a whirlpool tub. The location is excellent, close to the city entrance and sights like Quintandinha. The garden and breakfast area are beautiful and comfortable, and the staff were lovely from reception through breakfast. The room was attractive, and the tub was very spacious. Breakfast was generous, varied, and included dishes made to order. A few things to keep in mind: the internet wasn’t working well enough for us to watch TV channels, the parking is outside and uncovered, and there was some dust on the bathroom door. I’m allergic, so I noticed it, though it didn’t affect our stay. There were also issues with the shower and tub. Booking listed check-in until 10 pm and checkout until 12:30, but the actual times were check-in by 6:30 pm and checkout at 11:30 am, with a half-hour grace period. We were only there briefly, so we didn’t raise these points with the staff at the time, and they didn’t spoil the stay. I still think it’s a great place to stay in the city and would recommend it.

The personal service is a real highlight. They make you feel at ease, and the team looking after us was professional and attentive. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of cakes and juices. I loved it all and hope to come back.

We were welcomed with a lovely romantic setup in our room, which was a wonderful surprise. The place felt cozy, and everything was spotless. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and the staff were thoughtful and helpful. We’ll definitely return.

It’s a welcoming place that makes you want to slow down. We were treated really well and liked the location, so we already want to come back. One thing to improve: the room TV is very small, the picture isn’t good, and we couldn’t access streaming apps.
