Grande Hotel Petrópolis

The breakfast was quite good, though I wish they had replenished the eggs, and the co-working space was very nice for getting some work done. The rooms, however, are very small, and I wouldn’t consider this a 4 star hotel. If you’re booking based on that rating, think again. They still use cable TV instead of HDMI, and the picture quality is very low. There’s no chain lock on the door, which I expect in any hotel because I want to feel safe when I’m sleeping. There’s also no coffee, tea, or kettle in the room, which I’d expect from a hotel calling itself 4 stars. I found several spider webs in the room. There was only one large, fuzzy blanket for two twin beds, and that kind of blanket is also bad for people with allergies.

The location is handy for being central, but the hotel faces a busy road near the shopping centers, so there can be a lot of traffic. Parking is very limited and is often occupied by suppliers or other guests’ pickups. The rooms are a decent size, with the amenities you need, including air conditioning to control the temperature. Staff speak enough English to understand what guests need. Breakfast is decent and should suit most tastes.

One thing I noticed was the opening date on the olive oil in the restaurant. The food at dinner was very good, as was the service, and dishes averaged $ 55.00. Breakfast also had a lot of variety and quality, with very good service. The front desk was helpful, the valet parking worked extremely well, and the driver, Mr Wilson, was very attentive. The building was clean and well maintained, and the rooms were comfortable and pleasant. Avoid rooms beside the restaurant because you can hear tables and chairs. I’ll stay here again!

Breakfast was very good, with a huge selection. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the lobby and corridors were beautiful and clean. Rooms were spacious, modern, and clean too. I’ll choose this hotel again when I’m in Petrópolis. A well deserved 5 stars, highly recommended!
